Facebook Facts:

• Facebook is a social networking website (Facebook.com).
• The site is privately owned by Facebook, Inc. & founded by Mark Zuckerberg initially whilst a student at Harvard University.
• Facebook has been in use since September 2006.
• Users need to be aged over 13 years and have a valid email address.
• A Facebook user can update their personal profile, send messages and add friends.
• There is also the facility for joining organized networks of friends (i.e. work, education facilities, sports groups, special interest groups).
• Very recently Facebook website has overtaken Google as the most visited site in the USA (see media report below).
