Pachelbel's Canon (Canon in D Major)

Pachelbel's Canon is also known as Canon in D major, and more formally as Canon and Gigue in D major for three Violins and Basso Continuo (Kanon und Gigue in D-Dur für drei Violinen und Basso Continuo). It is the most famous piece of music by Johann Pachelbel.

The music was written around 1680, during the Baroque period. It was initially composed as a piece of chamber music for 3 violins & basso continuo. A youtube version of Pachelbel's Canon is shown below.
